The channel airs City Council meetings, special city events and original programming designed to keep residents connected to the city. Content airs 24 hours, every day of the week. Special features, FYIKC, news reports and other videos are also available on our YouTube channel.
The channel is available through Time Warner Cable (channel 2 or 98.2), AT&T U-verse (channel 99 then select Kansas City) and Google Fiber on Channel 142.
Copies of programs on Channel 2 are available for $20 per DVD by contacting the City Communications Office at 816-513-1349.
The Weekly Report – The Weekly Report provides news about City department programs and services. It can be viewed daily at 8 a.m., 5 p.m. and midnight. The program is hosted by Chris Hernandez, director of City Communications, and produced by the City Communications Office.
Kansas City Stories – Kansas City Stories is new program featuring stories that local production companies have created highlighting Kansas City businesses, people, history and more. To submit a video to Kansas City Stories, contact email@example.com. Videos must be professional quality, high-definition and focus on excellent storytelling about Kansas City, Mo., people, places and organizations. We especially encourage submissions that spotlight non-profit agencies, art and culture and entrepreneurial efforts. We reserve the right to accept or reject any submissions.
Time to be Well – Time to be Well is a wellness program hosted by Kathy Barry, a registered dietitian with the City’s Fountain of Health Wellness Program. Each episode demonstrates several healthy, super food recipes that are easy to make and delicious to eat. Viewers also learn several quick and effective exercises. Time to be Well airs daily immediately after The Weekly Report at 8:15 a.m., 5:15 p.m. and 12:15 a.m.
FYIKC – FYIKC is a series of videos to provide residents of Kansas City, Missouri with answers to some of the most frequently asked questions. Topics include home fire safety, pet licensing, avoiding vehicle break-ins and more.
