Loews Kansas City Convention Center Hotel
The project site is on the block bounded by Truman Road on the north, Baltimore Avenue on the east, 16th Street on the south, and Wyandotte Street on the west and is located within the Truman & Wyandotte Urban Renewal Area. The project consists of the convention center headquarters hotel with approximately 800 guest rooms and associated retail, restaurant, bar and lounge areas, recreational facilities and on-site improvements and a two story meeting space structure above three levels of structured parking. An elevated walkway over Wyandotte Street will connect the hotel with the Bartle Hall Convention Center.
View the convention hotel finance documents, including the project diagram, summary, purchase and funding agreements, on the Economic Development Corporation KC site. They are listed from exhibit 6A – 6Q. There is also a section of additional documents, such as cooperative agreements and bond purchase agreements.
This presentation by Randall Landes, KCMO Finance Director, provides additional details about the financing plan for the new convention center hotel. It covers both the city’s obligations and the developer’s private equity and private loans. The presentation was delivered to the City Council’s Finance and Governance Committee on Dec. 06, 2017.
