The Procurement Services Division uses sound business practices to preserve public trust and ensure integrity in every aspect of the procurement process. Staff strive to bring the greatest value and service to the City, and to be a reliable and capable partner in the acquisition of goods, services, design and construction.
Bidding Documents, Addenda and Bid Results are available online to all interested parties at the Kansas City, Missouri Plan Room. Any document or plan may be viewed or downloaded from this location. The Plan Room is where the City of Kansas City posts construction projects that are issued from Parks, Water, General Services, EDC (Economic Development Corporation), and Aviation.

The division’s main office is on the first floor of City Hall, division main number is 816-513-0850. Procurement Services also includes the City’s Mail Center and Print Center on the lower level of City Hall; the Surplus Property Office at 2600 N.E. Parvin Road; and the Records and Information Management Office on the sixth floor of City Hall.

Electronic bid information
The division uses DemandStar by Onvia as an online portal for posting certain solicitations. Vendors who subscribe to DemandStar will be automatically notified of bidding opportunities after registering for specific commodities and services. However, using DemandStar is not a requirement to do business with the City. For more information about DemandStar, call 800-711-1722.
Surplus Property
The City has assisted thousands of people by offering goods and usable surplus property at a substantially-reduced price as a unit under the General Services Procurement Division.
