The Kansas City, Mo., Health Department offers HPV vaccinations at 2400 Troost Ave Kansas City, Mo. HPV causes 32,500 cancers in men and women every year in the United States. According to the CDC, “HPV is a group of more than 150 related viruses. Each HPV virus in this large group is given a number which is called its HPV type…. Men and women can get cancer of mouth/ throat, and anus/rectum caused by HPV infections. Men can also get penile HPV cancer. In women, HPV infection can also cause cervical, vaginal, and vulvar HPV cancers.”
HPV vaccination can prevent most of the cancers from ever developing. HPV vaccine is available for those between the ages 9-26 years of age. During this initiative, it is a free, 2-shot (sometimes 3-shot) series that prevents some cancer-causing infections by 82 percent.
