DEPARTMENTS OF PUBLIC WORKS (PW) and NEIGHBORHOOD & HOUSING SERVICES (NHS) JOB FAIR
Saturday, April 29, 2017, 9 a.m. to noon Robert J. Mohart Multi-Purpose Center 3200 Wayne Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64109
There are approximately 50 vacancies combined in the Street Maintenance Division (PW) and Solid Waste Division (NHS).
Maintenance Worker – $14.35/hour
REQUIRES high school graduation; OR 6 months of general labor experience.
PW positions: you must possess a valid driver’s license and attain a Missouri Class A CDL within the first 6 months of employment.
Maintenance Worker positions in NHS
• Complete official City employment applications
• Interview for positions at the Job Fair
• Undergo criminal history and driving record background check (Applicants can contact the Missouri DMV 573-751-4600 to obtain current driving record offenses)
Equipment Operator – $14.35/hour
REQUIRES 6 months of experience operating trucks and other specialized automotive equipment. Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license in accordance with City of KCMO policies.
For PW positions, you must possess a valid driver’s license and attain a Missouri Class A CDL within the first 6 months of employment.
For NHS, you must possess a Missouri Class B CDL to be hired.
Applicants must for the NHS positions must:
•Bring valid Driver’s License or CDL; OR other ID for Maintenance Worker positions in NHS
•Complete official City employment applications
• Interview for positions at the Job Fair
• Undergo criminal history and driving record background check* (Applicants can contact the Missouri DMV 573-751-4600 to obtain current driving record offenses)
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as a condition of employment*
*For PW positions, these requirements will be scheduled at a later date.

For positions requiring college education as part of the minimum requirement and/or an equivalency, the minimum education requirement is high school graduation. The requirement of “high school graduation” also includes the state-issued GED certificate.
For positions that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional, responsible experience must be obtained AFTER receipt of the accredited degree.
Unless otherwise stated, the requirement of “an accredited” degree includes only those degrees obtained from colleges or universities listed with the U. S. Department of Education and recognized by the U. S. Secretary of Education.
