The Kansas City Museum is undergoing planning for an extensive historic restoration and renovation of the entire property.
Through Friday, May 5, 2017, regular weekly operating hours at the Kansas City Museum are from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Thereafter, the Museum will be temporarily closed to the public for construction. While there will not be regular weekly operating hours, the Museum will continue to host outdoor and offsite programming and events.

FREE, DOCENT-GUIDED History Tours at 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday through Friday, May 5, 2017. Learn about the history and legacy of the Long family while seeing remaining, original interior architecture alongside spaces in process for historic restoration and rehabilitation. In its current state, the Museum reveals visible and enduring traces of the past, as well as the promise of what is to come.

FREE, GUIDED “MAKING A MUSEUM” Tours are from:
3:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 22 and Friday, April 28
“Making A Museum” Tours are free and guided by the Museum’s Executive Director. Tour the first floor of Corinthian Hall and learn about the Museum’s new mission, vision, and restoration/renovation planning process. Participate in a conversation and share ideas about the development of future programs, exhibitions, events, and volunteer opportunities. These images are used by the Kansas City Museum, KC Parks, and the City of Kansas City, Missouri in publications, on the website, for television/cable promotions, social media, or use as is seen fit. The images are used at the Kansas City Museum’s discretion and become its sole property.
