These two ZIP codes were chosen because they have an estimated 1,400 unaltered pit bulls and pit bull mixes – the most per capita in Kansas City, Mo.
Q. What is the PetSmart Charities Grant?
A. The City’s Animal Health and Public Safety Division received a $100,000 grant from PetSmart Charities to provide free vaccinations, pet licensing and spay neuter surgeries for owners of unaltered pit bulls and pit-bull mixes in Kansas city’s 64130 and 64132 ZIP codes.

A. These ZIP codes were chosen because they have the highest numbers of unaltered, impounded pit bulls/pit bulls mixes in Kansas City.
Q. How long do I have to obtain this service?
A. You would need to take advantage of this free service as quickly as possible since the grant runs through September 2014.
Q. How many pets per household are eligible for the service?
A. Maximum of four pets per household.
Q. Are we required to show proof of residence before receiving service?
A. Yes, you would need to show your driver’s license or utility bills etc.
