City-wide memorial for fallen firefighters Leggio and Mesh, Saturday, Oct. 17
The City of Kansas City, Mo. announces plans for a City-wide memorial service in honor of fallen firefighters Larry J. Leggio and John V. Mesh. The public memorial service, hosted by IAFF Local 42, will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo.
The memorial service will close traffic surrounding the Sprint Center along Grand Ave. and Truman Rd. Residents are advised to follow detours, as posted. Additional details regarding the memorial service will be released as they are finalized.
A fund to support the families of fallen firefighters is available through IAFF Local 42. Tax-deductible donations will be given to the families of firefighters Leggio and Mesh. Donations can be made by check, payable to IAFF Local 42 and should be sent to 6320 Manchester Ave., Suite 42A; Kansas City, Mo. 64133. Sympathy cards may also be mailed to the same address.
