Public meetings, tornado preparedness events scheduled for March 2015
This March, Kansas City is helping to prepare residents for life-threatening hazards, including events such as tornadoes and flood events. Please mark your calendar for the following important events and meetings that can help residents protect property and save lives by preparing and planning for unexpected events.
Tuesday, March 3 | 1:30 p.m. | Tornado Siren Test
Kansas City, MO will participate in the statewide tornado drill scheduled as part of severe weather awareness week on Tuesday March 3, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. by sounding the tornado outdoor warning sirens (weather permitting). The regularly scheduled tornado siren test on Wednesday March 4th at 11:00 AM will be canceled.

Friday, March 6 | 1:30 p.m. | Annual City Hall Tornado Drill
City Hall will conduct a tornado drill at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 6. During this time, all employees and customers in the building will be directed to take shelter. The City’s 311 Action Center and Municipal Courts will also be closed from approximately 1:15-1:45 p.m. to participate in the tornado drill.

Hazard Mitigation Meetings | 6:00-9:00 p.m.
Kansas City, MO is partnering with Clay, Jackson, and Platte Counties to have a Hazard Mitigation display at their respective annual storm spotter training meeting. Stop by, visit, and feel free to ask questions or leave comments. Locations and dates are as follows, all meetings run from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.:
March 3: Crown Pointe Church, located at 5950 NE Lakewood Way, Lee’s Summit, Mo.
March 5: Congress Middle School, located at 8150 N. Congress Ave., Kansas City, Mo.
March 24: Location: Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, located at 1600 N. 291 Highway, Liberty, Mo.
