Weekend repairs close Independence Avenue
The Kansas City, Missouri Public Works Department announced today a two-day closure of Independence Avenue between Hardesty Avenue and Winner Road starting Saturday, August 1.
Full-depth repairs of the roadway are required due to buckling underneath the Kansas City Terminal Railroad bridge. Independence Avenue will close to through traffic starting at 5 a.m. Saturday morning and will reopen at 5 a.m. Monday morning.
Crews will post a detour route south of Hardesty to Winner Road through the repair.
