FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Oct. 5, 2016
It’s annual fire drill time for City of Kansas City, Missouri, employees so that means City Hall, 414 E. 12th St., will be closed to the public on Friday, Oct. 7, from 8 a.m. to noon as employees brush up on their safety preparedness techniques.
The 3-1-1 Call Center also will be closed during the drill.
During this time, residents may submit requests for service to 3-1-1 using other contact methods, including email 3-1-1.Call.Center@kcmo.org, Twitter @KCMO311, www.kcmo.gov/311, fax to 816-513-1303, or through the 311 mobile app.
The drill helps prepare City employees for an emergency, and it helps employees to consider ways in which they can ensure the safety of visitors during such an event.
“We are taking steps to protect our employees and the public when they are at City Hall,” said Eric Hallerud, Corporate Safety Manager. “This drill will help us prepare to protect public safety in an emergency situation.”
Hallerud, and the rest of the City’s Corporate Safety Office, will also use the drill to reveal any safety concerns that may have been overlooked.
The media can contact Hallerud at (816) 513-1430 or email@example.com.
