The City of Kansas City, Mo. announces that City Hall, located at 414 E. 12th St., will be closed to the public on Friday, April 22 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. as employees practice an emergency action drill. The 311 Call Center will also be closed during this time. During this time, residents may submit requests for service to 311 using other contact methods including email at 3-1-1.Call.Center@kcmo.org, Twitter @KCMO311, online at kcmo.gov/311 , fax to 513-1303, or through the 311 mobile app.
The drill will help prepare City employees for an emergency, and it will help employees to consider ways in which they can help ensure the safety of visitors during such an event.
“We are taking steps to protect our employees and the public when they are at City Hall,” said Eric Hallerud, Corporate Safety Manager. “This drill will help us prepare to protect public safety in an emergency situation.”
Hallerud, and the rest of the City’s Corporate Safety Office, also hope the drill will reveal any safety concerns that may have been overlooked.The City appreciates the public’s patience during this important safety exercise.
