Mayor Sly James, City Council members and Department Directors will meet today on Tuesday, June 14 from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, 1750 Independence Ave. to discuss possible changes and updates to the Citywide Business Plan values, vision and mission statements.
The Citywide Business Plan serves as the overall road map for funding the City’s goals during the next five fiscal years. The Mayor and Council review the plan annually. The Citywide Business Plan ensures that all departments share in a clear, purposeful direction, to meet Council-determined goals.
The City Council adopted the Citywide Business Plan on Oct. 23, 2014 through the passing of ordinance 150793. The City Council of the City of Kansas City, Missouri has adopted goal statements to guide the budget process and to ensure clearly communicated priorities. The Council’s goals encompass the following major categories: Customer Service; Finance and Governance; Infrastructure and Transportation; Neighborhoods and Healthy Communities; Planning, Zoning, and Economic Development; and Public Safety.
