FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Sept. 29, 2016
Motorists and pedestrians in part of the City’s historic Jazz District will have to yield the right of way for several hours on Saturday, Oct. 1, as a unique blend of bicycle racing takes over the streets.
Vine Street between 19th and 21st will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. so that racers of all ages can compete in the “Castle Cyclo-cross.” This popular format mixes traditional bicycle road racing with off-terrain racing and obstacles.
Both competitors and spectators alike can enjoy a cycling expo set up near the District’s acclaimed restaurants and museums. The first race starts at 10:30 a.m.
