UPDATED: June 26, 2017
The city is making curbside pickup available for Kansas City, Missouri, residents cleaning up after weekend storms swept through the area.
The special service will require an appointment and residents must follow these guidelines:
- Call 311 Action Center to schedule the pickup. Dial 311 or 816-513-1313.
- Trees must be cut into limbs no longer than 6 feet and no wider than 6 inches in diameter.
- Branches and limbs must be placed curbside by 7 a.m. on the day of the appointment.
- Bags of leaves and small sticks should be taken to one of the city’s three leaf and brush drop-off sites.
Call takers will start scheduling appointments beginning Tuesday, June 20. Callers should be prepared to provide details about the approximate size of the bundle. Pickups begin in the Northland next Monday, June 26, and end on June 30. Central City appointments run between July 3-8 and South appointments are set for July 10-14.
The city has waived fees through July 14 at all drop-off sites for KCMO residents with I.D. Non-residents can also use the sites but must pay the usual fee. The centers are located at 11660 N. Main St., 1815 N. Chouteau Trafficway, and 10301 Raytown Rd. They’re open Monday-Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Residents with smaller piles of other debris such as trash are encouraged to consider using the city’s Neighborhood Cleanup Assistance Program, which offers dumpsters at a reduced cost to registered neighborhood groups.
