FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: May 11, 2017
City leaders are grabbing hard hats and golden shovels on Friday morning to help crews break ground on a sidewalk project in the Northland.
The work is the first of a two-phase project being paid for with in-district PIAC dollars in the City’s 1st Council District. The $300,000 first phase includes the addition of a curb and sidewalk along Winn Road from NE Antioch Road to N. Bellefontaine Avenue; storm sewer upgrades; and signage to make the roadway safer. Phase two will include intersection upgrades and improved access to Cooley Park.
This project follows a tragic skateboarding accident in 2014 that left an 8-year old boy dead near an apartment complex on Winn Road.
The groundbreaking will be at Cooley Park, N. Antioch and Winn Road, at 11 a.m..
