FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 14, 2017
Several financial institutions, real estate agencies, title companies and builders are participating in the KCMO Land Bank Open House on Friday, June 23, to share tips on how to secure financing to buy available properties. The gathering at the Land Bank office, 4900 Swope Parkway, runs from 2-6 p.m.
“The theme of the open house is simple,” said Ted Anderson, KCMO Land Bank executive director. “Money is available to buy Land Bank houses to rehabilitate and money is available to build new homes on Land Bank vacant lots.”
Bank representatives, real estate professionals and builders will answer questions interested buyers might have and walk them through the process of home buying and home ownership, Anderson said.
“Many probably don’t realize it, but there is financing available for these Land Bank properties in the urban core,” Anderson said. “And for many, lack of financing keeps the dream of home ownership from becoming reality.”
Created in 2012, the KCMO Land Bank has thousands of local properties for sale – nearly all of them left behind by their previous owners. Their mission is to return these abandoned and vacant properties back to productive use.
