FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Jan. 10, 2018
The City of Kansas City, Missouri, recently modified the Code of Ordinances to change the due date for filing the Employer’s Annual Reconciliation of Earnings Tax Withheld and W-2 records. The new date is Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018.
Employers who file W-2 records electronically with the federal government are also required to do so with the City. W-2 information may be submitted via the City’s online portal, Quick Tax. For those requiring a paper format, instructions may be obtained on the City’s KCMO.gov tax website.
The City requires electronic filing and remittance for employers with 250 or more employees for all withholding-related filings. Employers must file the Annual Reconciliation of Earnings Tax Withheld (Form RD113) and the W-2 records in the proper format and by Jan. 31. Those who miss the deadline or file incorrectly will be penalized.
Media inquiries and other requests for information should be directed to Mari Ruck, Commissioner of Revenue, at 816-513-4990.
