FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 19, 2018
Due to a technical problem, the City is requesting re-submissions from all applicants seeking to participate in the 2018 Innovation Partnership Program.
The City will accept program applications through July 12 and the selection date is July 17.
The program, in its fourth year, provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs to develop, test and demonstrate innovative solutions for the City to improve the quality and efficiency of its services and operations. Through the partnership, the City agrees to test and evaluate those solutions using City infrastructure data.
The pilot period runs from July 30-Oct. 31, with the pitch opportunity taking place on Oct. 8.
To apply for the Innovation Partnership Program, companies must complete an online application form. Participants will be judged on a variety of criteria and a select number will be invited to partner with the City for a 12-week period.
The City wants to identify innovative partners that support economic development and operations strategies such as creating new markets and jobs; attracting and retaining top talent; and improving economic vitality, social equity and environmental quality.
This is an opportunity for entrepreneurs to expose their products and services to a broader base, potentially attracting new clients. The City benefits by having the chance to try the new technology at no cost. After the test period, the City may decide to purchase a company’s product or services.
