FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Feb. 7, 2018
Spring is on its way, and that means getting outside and walking to your favorite food truck for lunch. To make it easier for your favorite vendors to operate, KC Bizcare and Mid-Continent Public Library will host several informational sessions for food truck operators on the Convention & Tourism Tax.
The sessions will include a step-by-step demonstration on how to file returns and make payments for this tax electronically.
What’s the Convention & Tourism Tax?
A 2% tax on prepared food sold in Kansas City, Mo. The tax is charged to the customer and remitted by the seller to the City. Returns and payments may be submitted via the City’s online portal, Quick Tax. Paper forms may be obtained on the City’s Tax Home.
Convention & Tourism Tax Regulations are also published for additional guidance.
