Police invite public to learn their limits
Kansas City Police will help bar patrons know their limits on Saturday, June 1.
Police will have a Know Your Limits display set up in the Waldo bar district at the Tower Tavern, 401 E. 31st Street starting at 10 p.m. They will have several mobile breathalyzers and will invite the public to learn what their blood alcohol content (BAC) is.
The Know Your Limits program is purely educational, and no tickets will be issued based on what participants register on the breathalyzers. Officers will have information for bar patrons on how alcoholic drinks affect individuals based on body weight and fliers with contact information for cab companies. The whole effort is to prevent drunk driving.
Scottsdale, Ariz., Police initiated the Know Your Limits program in 2009. This is the third time police in Kansas City have done such an initiative.
