How to file a report
Go in person to any Kansas City Missouri Police station. A photo identification is required.

How to request police reports
Call 816-234-5100 to check report availability, then come in person to any Kansas City Missouri Police station with photo identification.

Turn-around time for mail requests is two to six weeks.
Traffic crash reports also can be purchased by clicking on the “Online Crash Reports” tab above. Other types of reports still must be purchased in person or by mail.
How to obtain your case report number
Call the Records Section at 816-234-5100 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. Closed weekends and holidays (includes Bonding).
Some types of reports requests can only be fulfilled at Police Headquarters, located at 1125 Locust. These include archived police reports prior to 1999 and subpoenas.
