Where can I find a place to park?
There are approximately 40,000 parking spaces in the Downtown Kansas City, and even more throughout the metro. This page includes information and apps to help you find a parking spot while visiting Kansas City. You can find downtown parking maps on the right.
Municipal parking supports a wide range of parking needs within the Greater Downtown Area. A list of city garages, each with their own unique characteristics can be found here. The consistent functions of municipal garages are to support economic development by supporting employee parking, residential parking, event parking and transient hourly parking. Street-level parking services are managed within the Parking Services Division’s area of operations (the Missouri River to Linwood Boulevard and State Line Road to Prospect Avenue.) This includes review of requested changes to parking policy as well as coordinating with City and private vendors to address parking and enforcement issues. Citizens can use an online form to request changes to parking policies or regulations.
Downtown Parking Control Enforcement: The Kansas City Police Department enforces on-street parking. For parking enforcement related items contact the Police Dispatcher Non-Emergency 816-234-5111 or the Action Center Department at 816-513-1313.
You can find city garages with EV charging stations here: EV Stations. In July 2017, the City , in partnership with KCP&L, installed the City’s first on-street EV charging stations. Locations include a station at 9th and McGee, and two near the intersection Southwest Boulevard and Broadway.
Parking Apps/Garage Parking Reservations
The Parkmobile app can be used to pay for any of the City’s 1,500 parking meters. Additionally, the new Parkmobile Reservations option makes it easy to reserve spots in downtown parking garages any time. To use the new Parkmobile system, customers can register for free at www.parkmobile.com or download the mobile app. Once registered, they can use the mobile app, the Internet or a toll free number – 877-PARK-HLP or 877-727-5457 – to pay for parking. After setting up the account, customers can immediately start using the system with their registered mobile phone. They can also select the option to use Parkmobile Wallet, receive alerts and reminders 15 minutes prior to expiration of their parking session.
