City staff hosted four virtual public meetings in March 2022 to gather and share information about sidewalks in Kansas City. Learn more by attending any of the meetings shown below. The Public Works Department’s Sidewalk Team will share similar information at each meeting. All meetings will be held online and will be recorded and posted here.

myKCMO Sidewalk Repair Requests

• The sidewalk inspection process identifies sidewalk condition and repair needs, so property owners no longer need to report repairs. The current sidewalk inspection map is available to view.
• However, any concerns about sidewalks, curbs or driveways can still be reported to 311. This does not result in an automatic repair!
• While a 311 request may not generate an immediate inspection or repair, all reports are reviewed and included in the citywide sidewalk inspection cycle.

Gaps in Sidewalks

Some neighborhoods have gaps or streets where sidewalks do not exist. To streamline the process, sidewalk projects in these areas may be funded up to 50% with GO Bonds with a 50% match from other funds such as:

• PIAC
• Adjacent property owners
• Grants
• Other government funding districts as approved by the KCMO City Council

New sidewalks in newly developed areas are still required under the City’s development code. The new sidewalk program does not impact that requirement.
