As with most things, there comes a time when past ordinances are no longer relevant to today’s society.
“In 2011 and 2012 we opened topics on KC Momentum to engage with small business operators,” said Councilman Scott Taylor, Sixth District at Large. “We are even more committed to making Kansas City business-friendly, and kcmomentum.org is helping to facilitate this dialogue with small business owners who want to be heard as we discuss the hurdles of impractical and obsolete ordinances.”
The public may now contribute to the dialogue through the City’s new Dead Letter Office. The public can state which ordinances they believe should be reviewed by the City Council, the City’s Business Process Management Team and KC BizCare for possible repeal or modification.
Comments can be made at kcmomentum.org, the City’s virtual town hall. To learn more about the City’s Dead Letter Office, please contact Assistant City Manager Rick Usher at firstname.lastname@example.org or 816-513-6559.
