Kansas City is positioning itself as a leader in innovation by transforming waste into valuable infrastructure, creating circular economy solutions, and attracting new businesses. Through collaboration with University of Missouri, LiveGreenUSA, and JM Fahey Construction, a road in our community will be repaved using innovative materials made from recycled waste as part of the Trash to Road Pilot Program.

This pilot program tests advanced materials to build longer-lasting roads and strengthen supply chain resilience, inspired by successful projects around the country, including Columbia, Missouri.

Studies Conducted in Missouri

  • Stadium Blvd. Demonstration project (2021) – dry process GTR and PCR-P sections
  • I-155 Interstate Study: 9 test sections (MU+MoDOT)
