Payable tickets
If your case is payable there will be a fine amount on the ticket or notice you receive in the mail.
- If you choose to plead guilty and pay the fine BEFORE the court date, you do not have to come to court.
- If you do not pay before the listed court date, you MUST come to court when listed.
- If you want to keep your ticket payable you must request a continuance THREE DAYS BEFORE your first court date and after that one and only continuance, either pay or come to court. If you miss a court date on a payable ticket it will no longer be payable and you will have to come to court even if a fine was originally listed on the ticket.
NOTE: A normally payable ticket also may be non-payable and require a mandatory court date if it was issued with a non-payable ticket or during an accident.
Non-payable tickets
Your case is non-payable if no fine is listed on your ticket or notice, or you have missed court on a once payable ticket and now receive a summons, making it non-payable.
- This is a mandatory court appearance. You must appear at the court date, time and courtroom listed.
