Fine Deadlines, Payment Plans and Collections

  • Fines are due on payable tickets by the court date on your ticket, notice, or summons.
  • Fines ordered during court are due within 60 days unless otherwise ordered by the judge.
  • For Payment Plans contact the Violations Bureau on the first floor in person or email to mcpayment@kcmo.org. Include full name, date of birth, how much you can afford to pay monthly,  copy of your driver's license or  government ID with your photo and ticket numbers if you have them. You must complete all documents and return them to the court for the payment plan to be valid.
  • If you want to do community service in place of the fine, you may ask the judge at your court date or at a walk-in docket or contact the Violations Bureau.
  • Unpaid balances will be sent to collections.
  • If you also are on probation, missing a payment is a probation violation and your case will be scheduled for a probation violation hearing. A summons will be mailed to the address we have on file for you. If you miss the probation violation hearing a warrant will be issued. Even if you bring your payments current before the probation violation hearing, you may still have to attend the court date if you have other probation violations that need to be addressed.
