Our spot repair program was previously supported by assessments on  adjoining property owners. Because of the GO Bonds, KCMO forgave any outstanding assessments and will no longer assess home owners for sidewalk repair. 

The sidewalk process began with repairs of the existing sidewalk backlog. This is a long list of 311 requests from 2008-2016 which we anticipate will be completed in 2023. Entire blocks will be inspected as backlog spot repairs are made to ensure neighbors can safely traverse the block. The map below shows all completed, current and future sidewalk backlog work identified by our sidewalk team. 

The graph below shows progress made on the sidewalk backlog in each council district, as of summer 2020. Green are completed blocks of the sidewalk backlog, yellow are under construction blocks of the sidewalk backlog and red are backlog block locations that still need to be repaired.
