The 2023 Dragon Boat Festival will combine a display of Chinese culture from music and martial arts to dragon boats racing on the water. It begins with the sound of drums and a lion dance leading people to the shore of Brush Creek where the races begin. The tradition of dragon boating began in China more than two thousand years ago and the races begin with the opening of the dragon’s eyes.
