In carrying out our mission to preserve blues music, last year, we created this event in conjunction with BB's Lawnside BBQ to shine a spotlight on underappreciated musicians...Women. Our male-dominated culture has always highly appreciated music/performances by created men; blues music is no different. There were the BB Kings, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, but where were their female contemporaries? Although women have worked hard in enhancing and contributing to this genre, many of their contributions were overlooked. This show is our effort to shine a spotlight on women's contributions to blues music. It was successful and very much appreciated by blues music fans
