The Public Improvements Advisory Committee (PIAC), in cooperation with the Mayor and City Council, will be holding public hearings across the city. These hearings provide Council and the Committee the opportunity to hear from citizens about the City’s public improvement needs. The PIAC will use information gathered through the hearings to recommend projects to Council in the following Fiscal Year's budget. Funding for these public improvement projects comes from the one-cent sales tax.
In addition to coming to the hearings, citizens can also tell PIAC about needed public improvements by completing an online PIAC application. These forms will also be available at the hearings. To have a form mailed to your address, please call (816) 513-1062 or email piac@kcmo.org.
If you are unsure in which district you live, you can consult the Council District Map.
You will receive notification of the final result of your application in April 2024. If your project is accepted, the funding will be allocated in May. However, please be aware that work on the project might not begin until late fall/early spring of the following year.
