The Contract Compliance & Labor Standards (CCLS) Division is responsible for monitoring and enforcing construction employment goals and the prevailing wage application on certain construction projects, and equal employment standards on all city construction contracts within the Kansas City metropolitan statistical area (MSA) pursuant to the City ordinance.

CCLS Manager Jarrett Dillard and Team Lead, Specialist Valerie Johnson will discuss these responsibilities, how the division detects wage theft, and what comes next.

We'll be joined by Erica Simon, Senior Investigator from the US Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division to share updates regarding disturbing trends in wage theft and child labor in the construction industry and steps they are taking to combat these.
