“The Cotton Club Revisited” is the Kansas City Jazz Orchestra’s season-opener, Fri., Oct. 11 (8PM) at Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts (1601 Broadway, KCMO). Featuring legendary saxophonist Benny Golson, this concert takes the audience back to the time of Ellington, Armstrong and Calloway. The KC Jazz Orchestra is one of the nation’s preeminent jazz ensembles, playing swinging big band music in a variety of settings and locations in Kansas City and beyond.
