The folks at the Kansas City, Missouri Municipal Court are inviting you to come share your concerns and ideas to improve access, fairness and trust at city court. These Community Conversations with Municipal Court will take place:
- Tuesday, Nov. 12, Noon to 3 p.m. at the Gregg/Klice Community Center, 1600 John Buck O’Neil Way
- Thursday, Nov. 14, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Kansas City, North Community Center, 3930 Northeast Antioch Rd.
- Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019, 8 a.m. to Noon at Southeast Community Center, 4201 East 63rd St.
The events are free but please go online to reserve a seat. Doors open 30 minutes early; a light meal will be served at each event and attendees will receive a gift card for full participation. If you attend more than one session, you will receive a single gift card at the first event completed.
Community Conversations with Municipal Court are part of a larger effort by the National Center for State Courts and the University of Nebraska Public Policy Institute to develop an engagement model for other courts to follow. Our Municipal Court is one of only six courts chosen for the pilot project aimed at improving court-community trust. The events also are one of the City’s Speak Easy public forums.
