The Plans Review Division is committed to timely customer service by offering guaranteed turnaround times. In order to accommodate the needs of our customers and to efficiently schedule our workload, the Plans Review Division uses the following system for classification, procedures and associated performance goals for plans review, based on the type of project:

In some cases, the scope of work for a project is minor enough nature that a written description may be the only submittal that is required. Examples of such projects include: replacement/addition of equipment, minor fire-damage repair, etc.

In these cases, the customer may be able to obtain a one-stop permit during the initial visit to the Permits Division based on a written scope of the proposed work.

Please Note: The written scope of work is subject to a cursory review by a Permit Technician and/or a Plans Examiner.

Please Note: Priority Plan Reviews are not being accepted at this time.

When priority plan review service is requested by the applicant, the scheduled turnaround time will be reduced to half of the normal turnaround time for the type of review involved (not including one- and two-family reviews). The reduced turnaround times apply to the first review and all subsequent reviews prior to issuance of the permit.

When priority status is requested by the applicant, a fee of two times (2x) the permit fee shall be assessed. Eligibility for priority status shall be determined based on the complexity of the project and availability of staff to perform the review.
