Ordinance No. 231019 banning Source of Income Discrimination is now in effect in Kansas City. Under Mayor Quinton Lucas's leadership, Kansas City joins 106 localities, including St. Louis and Columbia, and 20 states, including New York and California, in banning Source of Income Discrimination. The City, through the Civil Rights and Equal Opportunity Department, will proactively analyze rental ads for discriminatory language like "No Section 8" or "No past evictions."
