Healthy Homes Rental Inspection Program
The Healthy Homes Rental Inspection Program is responsible for permitting residential housing in Kansas City, Missouri. The Program responds to complaints about rental housing units and ensures health and safety standards are established. To file a complaint, call 816-513-6464.

Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program
The Lead Safety Program helps protect children from the irreversible damage lead can cause. Our team offers:
- Lead testing through a finger prick blood test
- Home inspections to determine if there are lead dangers in your home
- Remediation. Qualified homeowners and renters who are within income guidelines may be eligible for home repairs to eliminate lead dangers.

Rat Control Program
- Free rat control services for people living in owner occupied homes. It also provides rat control in sewers, vacant lots, vacant homes and City construction sites.
- Report rat infestation in any of these areas at 311 or directly at 816-513-6048.
Note: The Health Department will close at 1pm every 4th Thursday for staff development.
