Liquor Control Board of Review

The Liquor Control Board of Review was established under Section 10-61 of the code of ordinances and has formal rules and procedures under which it operates. The board has five members and two alternates, appointed by the Mayor in the following categories:

  • Attorney (chairperson)
  • Attorney (vice-chairperson)
  • Industry-affiliated member (and alternate)
  • Neighborhood-affiliated member (and alternate)
  • Non-affiliated member

Hearings are held at the request of the director of the Neighborhoods and Housing Services Department, or by request of license applicants who do not like the determination of their application. Hearings are typically held in the Regulated Industries Division‘s offices at 635 Woodland Ave. Either party may appeal the board’s decision to the Circuit Court.
